Similarly to the 2s game Nomads got off to a good start having the best of the territory in the opening 10 minutes. Some good runs and pressure on the defence by Joni Gorman also helped create a few short corners.
This initial pressure led to a number of shots and Nomads eventually taking the lead through a well struck effort by Lisa Grant-Phillips. This seemed to wake up Jersey Ladies and the game became very even with Nomads struggling to retain the ball but looking dangerous when getting the ball forward quickly.
Midway through the 1st half Jersey Ladies managed to scramble an equaliser and almost took the lead a short time later only for the goal to be disallowed due to a foul on the keeper.
The game continued to be competitive in the 2nd half with Nomads improving the passing through the midfield but struggling to create any clear chances in the opposition D and they fell behind to a well struck short corner.
Despite their best efforts Nomads could not create a clear opportunity to equalise and eventually lost 2-1.
Finally well done to Jess Watling and Lucy O'Connor in their 1st appearances for the 1s, we are seeing the benefit of this with the improvement in play and results for the 2s
