Nomads got off to a rare fast start in the match against the Blues, right from the opening hit Nomads played the ball back and around to right back then up the field to the opposition D from 1,2 and 3 touch passing.
With fast accurate passing and dynamic movement from the front 3 Nomads repeatedly opened up the Blues defence, they deservedly opened the scoring with Lisa Grant-Phillips powerfully striking a short corner into the bottom right corner.
They extended the lead a short time later with Joni Gorman bundling in a rebound after her initial shot had been saved. She then added her 2nd shortly after after good pressure on the Blue defence allowed her to steal the ball from the CB, before completing a birthday hat trick.
Ciara Mcquaid then managed to push the lead to 5 with a well struck effort from just inside the D.
The 2nd half was far more even right from the start with both teams looking dangerous on the attack. 2 counter attacks led to goals for the boys as they looked to fight back but while Nomads continued to look dangerous and earned a number of short corners they could not find a way to score again.
Overall a really good result built on an excellent 1st half performance, well done also to Erin Moffett in her 1st match for the 1st team.
